Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lumidoc ("Service"), operated by Lumidoc ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Lumidoc Does

Lumidoc is a web-based document transformation service. You upload a document (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, or a handwritten scan) and the Service extracts the text using AI-powered OCR and produces a formatted, themed document that you can export as a PDF.

2. Accounts

You may sign in with a Google account or a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lumidoc. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Credits and Plans

Lumidoc operates on a credit system. Credits are consumed when you process and export documents (currently 10 credits per PDF export).

  • Free plan: 100 credits per month, reset on the 1st of every month. No charge.
  • Pro plan: 9,000 credits per month at $9/month, reset on the 1st of every month. Credit top-up packs are available as one-time purchases.

Unused credits expire at each monthly reset and are not carried over or refunded. We reserve the right to adjust credit costs or plan features with reasonable notice.

4. Payments and Billing

Paid plans and top-up packs are processed through LemonSqueezy, our payment provider. By subscribing or purchasing, you agree to LemonSqueezy's terms and authorize recurring charges for subscription plans.

Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days at [email protected].

Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

5. Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not use your uploaded documents to train AI models, sell data, or share content with third parties, except as necessary to operate the Service (e.g., sending document pages to an OCR API for text extraction).

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and process any document you submit. Do not upload documents containing sensitive personal data of others, confidential information you are not authorized to share, or material that infringes any copyright.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
  • Upload documents containing illegal content, malware, or malicious code.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service's APIs.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits.
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers for document processing, payment handling, and email delivery. Your use of the Service is also subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service interruptions or changes.

8. Intellectual Property

All aspects of the Service, including its design, software, themes, and branding, are owned by Lumidoc and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Service IP to you.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that OCR output will be perfectly accurate. Use of AI-extracted text should be reviewed before relying on it for important purposes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumidoc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $10 USD.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lumidoc is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
